Why the name "Art 4 Life"? I believe Art in general can open a human mind in every kind of way. Makes you see the world in a total different vision. Art also has the power to help "cure", heal any kind of psychological wounds. . I could stay all day here trying to explain why I believe in Art for promoting a better quality of live in human beings. Art does something more than fill dingy spaces devoid of character; it offers mastery, discipline, structure, healthy relationships, as well as positive and creative ways for people – young and old alike – to express locked in emotions and frustrations, the very same emotions and frustrations that often lead to offenses.By making art accessible and giving youth the opportunities to meet and be mentored by people who create a variety of art, we will help our youth feel they can build and create anything. Why? Because the art has the power to teach us anything.

   1. Arts teach youth alternative views and solutions to their dilemmas.
   2. Arts teach youth that small differences can have large effects.
   3. Arts instill an innate ability to think and solve problems creatively and flexibly.
   4. Arts teach teamwork and an appreciation for others strengths and talents
   5. Arts teach us how to play and thus, are about expressing joy.
   6. Arts teach communication: how to say that which cannot be said with words or numbers.
   7. Arts teach youth that questions and problems can have more than one answer or solution.
   8. Arts teach youth diverse perspectives - there are many ways to see and interpret the world.
   9. Arts teach youth to make good judgments about qualitative relationships: in the arts, it is judgment rather than rules that prevail.
  10. Arts teach youth the complex forms of problem solving: opportunity, circumstance and solutions change.
  11. Arts teach that qualitative evaluations can be as valid as quantitative evaluations
  12. Arts teach youth to think and work though how ideas and concepts become realities.
  13. Arts give youth experiences they get no place else - and through these experiences they discover their range of capability and achievement.
